Foreword

I started Ramsay’s Fine Foods from our family kitchen at home where I cooked for a handful of customers just once a week. The menu was small, five or six simple yet

delicious home cooked dinners, a few desserts and some soup, which I started cooking in the morning and

delivered to them the next day. I did this every week and before long I needed help from the rest of the family. Within a matter of months we realised that, thanks solely to word-of-mouth recommendations, we needed to find bigger premises in order to facilitate the growth of the business. And so, we moved to our kitchen in Balloo.

I was thankful to get my kitchen at home back!

Our founding principle is and always was to cook as I do at home, and that's how we shop for ingredients too. We never put additives or preservatives into our food and all our fresh produce is locally sourced for that fresh from home taste.

Most of our meat comes from a farm in Newtownards, the rest from a farm in Coleraine. Our fish is from a long established Bangor fishmonger who sources from mainland markets at Peterhead and locally from Portavogie, Kilkeel and Ardglass. All our potatoes, fruit and vegetables are locally sourced, cutting down the food miles and ensuring that Northern Ireland produce is served on Northern Ireland plates.

Although our business is steadily growing we constantly strive to maintain the personal touch. Our valued relationships with each of our customers is important to us and we will always endeavour to cater for their personal tastes.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their

continued support because without you we wouldn’t have come this far, and we hope to continue making your meal times easy.
